i open my book and i see a joy of pure being butterfly black black and aquamarine blue i found it motionless on the track this morning for a moment it almost seemed like it was fluttering life, but it was only the fan above me
in my book there are also words by eckhart tolle which i wrote down sometimes i miss out words what are considered by me to be extraneous to the nub of the message or i paraphrase an idea he has been talking about or i pick out a desultory snippet of an idea which i like, like "the quality of one's consciousness in the moment" veryexcited to write down those words a word is just a word sometimes it takes a while for a message to be given and received, it is given for the first time - the first contact - then you receive it a second time, a third time, you muse and let it sink in and mull over life experiences - they are all happening now - like a nail being hammered into wood the message is simple - The Power of Now now is powerful - it had been partially driven into my piece of wood, but eckhart tolle's word sequences were like the final blow to drive it home.
one thing is sure for me i think - tolle seems to see the mind as always a hinderance to the pure essence of experiencing our being it is true that all of us live in our minds, well, i do - i speak for myself - but i don't see the fertile fluctuations of the fidgety mind as a huge obstacle to that deep well of innocent innerness forgetful foreverness. as long as one remains unattached to the mind - know that the mind is not you, you can observe the mind, smile indulgently towards the mind, let it have its sway, let it play, as long as it doesnt stay
forever

summary of message of book: being aware of the beauty and miracle of life that unfolds all around you when you are present in the Now.
"Use your senses fully. Be where you are. look around. just look, don't interpret. see the light, shapes colours, textures. be aware of the silent presence of each thing. be aware of the space that allows everything to be. listen to the sounds; dont judge them. listen to the silence underneath the sounds. touch something - anything - and feel and acknowledge ite Being. observe the rhythm of your breathing; feel the air flowing in and out, feel the life energy inside your body. allow everything to be, within and without. allow the "isness" of all things. move deeply into the Now
as soon as you honour the present moment, all unhappiness and struggles dissolve, and life begins to flow with joy and ease.
everything is honoured but nothing matters. forms are born and die. yet you are aware of the eternal underneath the forms. you know that "nothing real can be threatened"
the human form turns to dust pretty quickly, and when it is gone it is as if it had never been. is that tragic of cruel? only if you create a separate identity for each form. if you forget that its consciousness is God-essence expressing itself in form. in the timeless realm where God dwells, which is also your home, the beginning and the end, the Alpha and Omega, are one, and the essence of everything that ever has been and ever will be is eternally present in an unmanifested state of oneness and perfection.
identification with the mind creates a false self - the ego - as a substitute for your true self rooted in Being.
nothing real can be threatened. nothing unreal exists. herein lies the peace of God.
if you remain in conscious connection with the Unmanifested, you value, love and deeply respect the manifested and every life form in it as an expression of the One Life beyond form. you also know that every form is destined to dissolve again and that ultimately nothing out here matters all that much. you have "overcome the word" in the words of Jesus
Jesus was a man who realised divine presence, his true nature and so he said "before Abraham was, I AM"
if CHRIST were to return tomorrow, what could he possibly say, other than "i am the Truth. I am divine presence. i am eternal life. i am within you. i am here. i am NOW
the word God is limiting not only because of thousands of years of misuse and misperception, but also because it implies an entity other than you. God is Being itself. not a being. there is no subject-object relationship here, no duality, no you and God
in Being, subject and object merge into one. Being can be felt as the ever-present I AM that is beyond name and form
through allowing the "isness" of all things, an uncaused joy reveals itself beyond good and bad. this is the joy of Being, the peace of God
let everything pass through you, when you accept what is, every moment is the best. that is enlightenment
"love your enemies" says Jesus, which of course means "have no enemies"
Compassion is the awareness of a deep bond between yourself and all creatures. you will all become rotting corpses in a few years from now, then piles of dust, then nothing at all. in that sense, there is total equality between you and every other creature.
without a profound change in human consciousness, the world's suffering is a bottomless pit...empathy with someone else's pain or lack and a desire to help need to be balanced with a deeper realisation of the eternal nature of all life and the ultimate illusion of all pain. then let your peace flow into whatever you do
the secret of life is to "die before you die" - and find that there is no death [cross reference: At the bottom of everything, by bright eyes]
